If your building runs on Sargent, the cylinder is what keeps every new opening on the same key. Shop Sargent mortise, rim, key-in and interchangeable core cylinders, keyed to your existing Sargent system, keyed alike, masterkeyed or supplied uncombinated. In stock at Commercial Door Hardware and shipping the same day.
Which Sargent Products Take Which Cylinder
The cylinder type is decided by the hardware, not by preference. This is the table to work from.

The exit device row is the one that trips people up. A rim device takes a rim cylinder with a tailpiece; a mortise device takes a mortise cylinder with a cam. Ordering the wrong one gets you a cylinder that physically cannot drive the device, and the two look similar enough in a catalogue listing to be confused.
If you're unsure, the fastest route is the model number stamped on the hardware. For the general explanation of how each cylinder type works, see our Cylinders and Cores collection; this page is about matching cylinders to Sargent hardware and to an existing Sargent key system.

Keyed to your existing system is the one most Sargent buyers actually want and the one most often not asked for. Supplying the keyway and keying details with the order means the hardware arrives ready to go into the building's existing hierarchy, instead of arriving on its own key and needing a locksmith before it can be installed.

-
Match the cylinder face to the trim it sits in, since on mortise locks and deadbolts the cylinder is fully visible on the door face.
-
On cylindrical locks the cylinder sits inside the knob or lever, so match the trim rather than the door.
-
626 satin chrome carries the deepest stock.
-
On older Sargent installations, the installed finish is often 605 or 612 rather than the current default. Match what's there.
-
Availability varies by cylinder type; confirm for your configuration on the product page.

Why Order Sargent Cylinders from Commercial Door Hardware
Commercial Door Hardware supplies door hardware for schools, healthcare facilities, offices, retail and institutional buildings, carrying Sargent locks, exit devices, closers, cylinders, cores and key blanks alongside Von Duprin, Corbin Russwin, Accentra, LCN and Norton.
Cylinder orders for an existing Sargent building succeed or fail on two details: the cylinder type the hardware takes, and the keyway the building runs. Both are quick to establish: a model number off the lock and a photo of a key- and both are expensive to get wrong, because a cylinder in the wrong keyway is useless and a cylinder of the wrong type won't drive the hardware.
Everything in this collection is in stock at Commercialdoorhardware.com and ships the same day. Send us the hardware model and a photo of an existing key, and we'll confirm the right cylinder, keyed into your system.
