Most exit device problems don't need a new device. They need the right part. Shop Sargent exit device parts and accessories for 80 Series panic bars, including alarm retrofit kits, electric latch retraction and request-to-exit kits, surface vertical rod latch parts, trim, strikes, wiring harnesses, and replacement components. In stock at Commercial Door Hardware and shipping the same day.
Repair, Upgrade or Replace?
An exit device that won't latch, a rod that drags, or a door that needs an alarm or card access doesn't automatically mean replacing the whole device. Sargent's 80 Series is modular, so individual components can be replaced, and many features can be added in the field.
That's the case for exit device parts and accessories: restoring a worn device to proper operation, or upgrading a working one with an alarm, monitoring, or electric latch retraction, at a fraction of the cost and downtime of a full replacement.

Surface Vertical Rod Latch Parts
Surface vertical rod devices latch at the top and bottom of the door, so the rods, latches, and strikes take the most wear, especially bottom latches exposed to dirt, salt, and impact. Common SVR replacements include top latches, bottom latches, rods, rod guards, and top and bottom strikes. Many problems traced to the device are really rod adjustment, so check that both latches engage fully before replacing parts.
Identifying the Right Part
-
Find the device series, such as 8800, 8700, 8600, 8500, 8400, or 8300, on the device or the original hardware schedule.
-
Note the rail size, E, F, J, or G, and whether it's a narrow or wide rail.
-
Note the function and any prefixes, such as 12- for fire-rated or 56- for electric latch retraction.
-
Check the finish code at the end of the part number.
-
Measure the door width, height, and thickness.
-
Send us photos of the device and the outside of the door if you're unsure.
Available Finishes
Finish codes follow the BHMA system, with the older US designation shown alongside. The two codes describe the same finish, so 630 and US32D are interchangeable on a hardware schedule.

Why Order Sargent Exit Device Parts from Commercial Door Hardware
Commercial Door Hardware supplies door hardware for schools, healthcare facilities, offices, retail, hospitality, and institutional buildings across the country, carrying exit devices, exit trim, locks, cylinders, closers, hinges, thresholds, weatherstripping, and the parts that go with them from Sargent, Von Duprin, Corbin Russwin, Accentra, Schlage, LCN, Norton, and Pemko.
Getting the right part depends on the device series, rail size, prefix, and finish. We stock Sargent parts alongside the devices they fit, so you can match a repair to the device that's already on the door.
Every item in this collection is in stock at Commercialdoorhardware.com and ships the same day, because a failed exit opening is a life safety and security problem rather than a maintenance item. If you're matching existing hardware, send us the device model number, door width, finish, and a photo of the outside of the door, and we'll confirm the right part before you order.
