You don't need a new panic bar to stop unauthorized exits. Sargent 545 alarm retrofit kits add a self-contained alarm to existing 80 Series exit devices, with a 103 dB horn, flashing red violation LED, low battery alert, and automatic re-arming option. Shop kits for wide and narrow rails in E, F, and G sizes, in stock at Commercial Door Hardware and shipping the same day.
What an Exit Device Alarm Kit Does
Emergency exits have to open for anyone, which also makes them the easiest way to walk out with merchandise, prop a door for a friend, or cut through a secured area. Locking them isn't an option.
An exit device alarm kit converts an existing Sargent 80 Series panic bar into an alarmed exit device. The alarm mounts inside the push rail. When the alarm is armed and someone pushes the bar, the door opens immediately, and the horn sounds, so staff know the exit was used. Egress is never delayed or restricted.
Because it retrofits the existing device, a kit is usually the fastest and lowest-cost way to add monitoring to a door that already has good hardware.
