SARGENT 11 Line Door locks are the ideal solution for the toughest environments within educational facilities. The unique T-Zone construction provides strength and reliability that easily exceed ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 requirements for torque and cycle testing. The design also simplifies facility maintenance by utilizing a single lock body for all functions. Flexible, durable, and reliable, this lock can take whatever you give it.
The Sargent 11 Line is a cylindrical lever lock line for standard commercial openings: offices, interior suites, meeting rooms and the doors that see steady daily use without the punishment of a corridor. Shop the 11 Line in passage, privacy, office, entrance, classroom and storeroom functions with conventional and interchangeable core keying. In stock at Commercial Door Hardware and shipping the same day.
Specifying the Right Line Saves Money Twice
The instinct on a lock package is to specify one line everywhere, because it simplifies ordering. It also wastes money, in one of two directions.
Specify too light and the corridor doors fail. A lock rated for moderate use on a door cycling eight hundred times a day will need replacing within a couple of years, and the replacement cost plus the labour exceeds what the right lock would have cost in the first place.
Specify too heavy and you've paid a premium on every private office, closet and storage room in the building for cycle life those doors will never approach. On a building with two hundred openings, most of them interior, that adds up.
The 11 Line covers the second category: the majority of interior doors in a typical commercial building.

Where Privacy Function Fits and Where It Doesn't
Privacy is the function most often specified wrongly on interior doors.
A privacy lock locks from the inside only, by button or turn. There is no key from the corridor, just an emergency release. That's correct for a restroom, a changing room or an exam room, where the person inside needs to secure the door and nobody outside needs routine access.
It's wrong for a private office. An office occupant wants to lock the door when they leave, which means locking from outside, which privacy function can't do. That opening needs office or entrance function.
