Sargent 8200 Series Mortise Locks

The 8200 Mortise Lock is considered the industry's benchmark for all mortise locks on the market today, far surpassing ANSI/BHMA A156.13 Series 1000 Grade 1 standards.

The 8200 Series is Sargent's principal mortise lock line and one of the most widely specified mortise locks in North American commercial construction. Shop the 8200 Series in storeroom, classroom, entrance, office, privacy, and passage functions, with conventional, SFIC, and LFIC keying, standard and behavioral health trim, and keypad versions. In stock at Commercial Door Hardware and shipping the same day.

Why the 8200 Appears on So Many Schedules

Three things keep the 8200 Series on hardware schedules across schools, hospitals, universities, and institutional buildings.

It covers the whole building from one case. The same lock case handles passage on a corridor, classroom on a teaching space, storeroom on a mechanical room, and privacy on a restroom. One series, one door prep, one lever family across every opening.

It adapts to how the building is keyed. Conventional cylinders, SFIC prep, and LFIC prep are all available on the same functions, so the lock matches the existing key system rather than forcing a change.

It covers specialized applications other lines don't. Behavioral health trim for ligature-resistant openings and keypad versions for credential-free access both sit within the same series, which means a facility can standardize on one line even where some openings have unusual requirements.

Functions Available

Confirm the exact function numbers and their operation against Sargent's documentation for your configuration, since function designations carry specific behaviors that matter at the opening.

Trim Options

Trim is what people see and touch, and on the 8200 Series it's where the specification branches.

The behavioral health trims are available in our Sargent 8200 with ALP Trim, Sargent 8200 with BHL Trim and Sargent 8200 with BHW Trim collections, and keypad versions in our Sargent 8200 Series Keypad Locks collection.

Keying Options

Sargent cylinders, cores and key blanks are available in our Cylinders and Cores and Key Blanks collections.

Available Finishes

• 626 satin chrome carries the deepest stock across every function and is the safe default when no finish is specified.

• 630 satin stainless suits healthcare and behavioral health openings, where cleaning chemicals are used constantly and stainless outlasts plated finishes.

• Confirm the finishes available for your specific trim, since behavioral health and keypad trims carry narrower ranges than standard lever trim.

• Match the lock to the hinges, closer and exit hardware on the opening.
